Colenso BBDO promotes Aussie expat senior creative Haylie Craig to creative director

After a string of standout campaigns and high-profile awards, Haylie Craig (they/them) gets the call up for creative director role.

When Craig isn’t tackling the daunting task of creating another outstanding comms campaign, they like to face their fears head-on by organising awkward creative department lunches.

Craig’s promotion should come as no surprise. They were picked by The One Show for Next Creative Leaders 2020/2021, and the following year for Campaign Asia’s Top 40 women/gender diverse people to watch.

Since arriving at the agency in 2019, Craig has created a plethora of brilliant work for Colenso’s clients, including Spark Beyond Binary Code; Tally My Post for State Insurance; BNZ Checkout Checkpoint; Give up on Humans; and Breast Cancer Foundation, Pre Check app – Teach your hands what to look for.

At Cannes 2022, Beyond Binary Code was shortlisted for a Glass Lion for Change, as well as three other categories, and won a Silver Lion for Use of Digital Platforms. Craig also helped Colenso win competitive pitches for Medibank (Australia) and Zevia (USA) last year.

Says Si Vicars (he/him), CCO, Colenso BBDO: “For someone who doesn’t like the limelight, Haylie has a remarkable ability to constantly attract attention with one brilliant idea after another. Haylie is a world class thinker and crafter. Alongside our group creative directors, they will help drive creative excellence at Colenso.”

Says Craig: “I’m privileged to work in the creative industry. And I want to use that privilege to create change for those who may not have the same chance.”
