WAIS celebrates the road to Paris from WA postcodes in new campaign via Marketforce

The Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) is celebrating its WA Olympic and Paralympic athletes from all around the state with the launch of ‘Postcodes’, a new campaign that tells their stories of the road to Paris 2024 from their respective postcodes.

 

From Busso 6280 to Cottesloe 6011 to Broome 6725, Marketforce and Flare brought the stories, successes and celebrations of our athletes and their support villages to the WA community.

“The Western Australian Institute of Sport literally exists to give WA athletes the chance to achieve international sporting success – it obviously doesn’t get any bigger than Paris right now,” said Luke Williams, Creative Director on the new campaign. “We wanted to show how sporting greatness doesn’t just come from the most well-funded or iconic sporting communities – every WA postcode has a sports story to tell.”

“Our athletes’ journeys don’t start or stop with WAIS.” said Matt Fulton, WAIS CEO. “There is an incredible village of support from the local junior clubs to State Sporting Associations to State Government to parents and family that play a role in preparing them for the world stage. This campaign helps us recognise and celebrate the part we all play supporting them towards the podium and, importantly, beyond it.”



The campaign is running across Nine and 9Now during the network’s Olympics and Paralympics Coverage, OOH, and social channels. The stories were produced by Flare from a mix of archival and new footage.

The messaging will continue running into the Paralympics Coverage, featuring WA’s finest Paralympians from around the state with a mix of content.
