Nic and Fran are nice people and seem to do a good job and clients like them.
have they ever done any good work though? I’m sure they’ll improve McCann and good on them for giving it a go, but let’s not expect a creative renaissance there

This is a win for DDB. Leif back as head strategist should help the creative department develop work again with a point of view, an angle, an edge. And the creative work on MacDonalds can only improve now that the CCO isn’t undermined at every step.

McCann in Australia has always had a nasty culture, even before the merger with SMART. Their subsequent creative success and award obsession did nothing to improve it and in many ways, it made it much worse. They attract good talent, but almost invariably, fail to retain it. I sincerely hope this new leadership team it’s the one who can make a real difference. Good luck.

From the above comments it’s good to see the McCann Sydney brand remaining consistent over the decades.
In the mid 80’s I was hailed as the agency’s most outstanding creative in the morning and fired that afternoon.

They literally don’t pay you until you start legal proceedings. Then they don’t credit you for work you’ve done there.
