I enjoyed my time at Independent immensely and feel sad that it is an end of an era. Even though it’s been 5 years since I worked with them I am lucky enough to count Ange and Pete (as well as many other colleagues from those years) as friends and look forward to having lunch with them soon.

Always ahead of her time, Angela was the first person I ever knew who had a mobile phone. Perhaps ‘portable’ would have been more apt. It was as big as a small TV set, and plugged in to her car.
